Right before the first snow appears each year, the house becomes full with all my indoor plants that I bring inside in preparation for wintertime. It is very warming to stay inside the house during the cold winter season when you find yourself in a colorful, scented ambiance.
I am very fond of plants since the beginning. Maybe because my mother was so fond of it too. Plants were grown everywhere, inside the house and in our attractive backyard. My mother also had favorites among her plants, which she'd shelter in the house every wintertime. Back, then, it never fails to see roses in the garden, a willow tree and a scenic landscape in the backyard that she nurtured so diligently. The feelings that both, me and my mother have are mutual with regards to the plants. We consider them as friends that needed our help to get out of the cold, and we did. The ficus tree at home has been with me for more than twenty years already. Now that it has grown old, he's just like a friend that has grown old too. At the moment, he looks enormous though we can still move him and out of the house. He stays out when its summer and in when its winter.I am one of those 'nutty' people who talks to her plants and, they respond with healthy color, blooms and cheerfulness on dreary days.I really love having them around me in the house. With the plants around, the place has become tranquil and in accord, and each time my grandchildren visits here, they join in the caring for the plants as well.If we cannot learn to care for the living and growing things, how can we learn to care for each other? So I use them as a teaching tool to learn how to care for something that depends on them to live.
There are locations where plants can be outdoors everyday for the whole year and can withstand any weather condition. If you live there, then good for you. If your plants are weakening because of the changes in the weather, do not be troubled. Here, where the winters can be brutal, if we want to save them, we have to bring them in from the harsh conditions of the season.
