Tint Or Polycarbonate For Greenhouse

By Stephanie Stenning

Greenhouses refer to special outside constructions used for safe growing of various plants, such as: vegetables (radish, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers etc.); berries (e. G. Strawberries); different flowers and others. These constructions are used mainly in the northern USA states with low temperatures in autumns and winters. As a matter of fact, a greenhouse is used to create an oasis of warm climate within small premises all year round.

Vegetables, berries, flowers, decorative bushes and other plants are grown at private gardens. Fresh groceries become more expensive; moreover, a lot of people prefer having own vegetables and berries on their dinner tables every day. Modern greenhouses are represented by reliable constructions that ensure fresh supplies of ecologic vegetables, berries, flowers and other plants grown with no usage of detrimental supplements.

At the present time there are several types of materials available on the market that are implemented in greenhouse construction. These are: tint, polycarbonate and others.

Special thick tint has been widely used as greenhouse covering. It is comparatively inexpensive and easy-to-install material. Moreover, tint can be replaced at low cost if damaged.

Tint greenhouses are characterized by condensed water that gathers on its inside layer. It is rather dangerous for plants, since water drops create so-called lens effect making sunburns on the leaves of plants. It makes plants weaker and crops worse. Moreover, dropping water can be a result of bacterial lesion of plants.Special anti-fog greenhouse tint is a novelty on the agricultural market. It prevents formation of drops gathering on the inside layer of tint. Anti-fog tint makes water ooze away to the ground without affecting plants.

Polycarbonate has conquered significant part of the greenhouse market. It is known to be highly efficient multipurpose material. It has got many advantages in comparison with tint. These are: better light transmission (up to 80%); better distribution of sunlight (covering the entire surface of plants including leaves and trunks); full protection from UV radiation; efficient temperature preservation and others.

Polycarbonate greenhouses protect plants from detrimental short-wave UV radiation. Other materials (tint or glass) do not have this characteristic. Polycarbonate technology preserves the temperature within a greenhouse with no harmful effect on plants and other objects. Tint or glass greenhouses can not guarantee proper level of heat insulation. Moreover, polycarbonate can be used at any temperature range (from -40 C to +50 C). It must be mentioned that greenhouses covered with tint or glass are not as firm and efficient as those covered with polycarbonate. In fact, polycarbonate protects greenhouse from heavy rains, hail and accidental damages.

People who are willing to buy a greenhouse are welcomed to make an online application. Potential buyers can surf through all products available on the website and select a desired one. Customers who buy greenhouses online are given more options and services. These are: to view detailed pictures and sketches of all types of greenhouses (in order to select among ready-made products or apply for an individual project); to contact online support with the purpose of clearing out difficulties (if any); to hire specialists who can install greenhouses; to read commentaries and/or recommendations of other users or experts; to pay online with any modern method (debit/credit card direct transfer, online payment systems etc.); to order delivery and many others.
